We will be showcasing a live reading of the award-winning short screenplay written by Chantelle James. MEET THE “LOVE, FROM ELLIE” TEAM

Chantelle James is an Australian-born award-winning filmmaker. After earning her Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts, Acting, at the Actors Center Australia, Chantelle moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film & TV. It was in LA that she wrote & produced her first short film, Ordinary, discovering her love and passion for filmmaking. She moved to Austin, TX in 2019 and launched production company Lady Alchemist Films in 2020. Chantelle served on the board of Women in Film & Television Austin as Podcast Chair 2021 - 2023. She is a current member of the Alliance of Women Directors.

Paulina Manseau

Paulina Manseau is an award-winning director, writer, and producer of Mexican and Lebanese roots born in Los Angeles, California. Raised in Mexico and later returning to the U.S., she has passionately pursued her career in theater, film, and writing. Recognized as one of Texas' top directors and screenwriters, Paulina's talent and vision have earned her numerous accolades. In 2021, her works were featured on PBS, leading to her induction into the Alliance of Women Directors.

Kirtana Banskota is an award-winning, first-generation Nepali- American filmmaker who loves applying her global-grown work ethic to the world of film and media. She thrives in working with underrepresented communities alongside women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community while seeking to promote themes of passion, social impact, and integrity in all of her work. She is a Producer, Director, Actor, and Philanthropist.

Zach Morrison

Zach Morrison is a graduate of the University of Texas, Radio-TV-Film program. After a decade-long stint cutting his teeth in the indie film and music video world of Austin, TX, Zach moved to Los Angeles to pursue narrative film full time in 2022, after being admitted as a Cinematography Fellow at the American Film Institute.Films Zach has shot have premiered at festivals including SXSW, New Orleans Film Festival, Inside Out Toronto, and on such platforms as HBO, NoBudge.com, booooooom.tv, and Billboard.

Ashley Guaragna

Ashley Guaragna is a casting director based in Austin, TX, specializing in independent narrative projects. She has a knack for finding talent and connecting filmmakers with outstanding actors. Ashley is passionate about collaborating with visionary directors and helping them find the right faces and voices to bring their stories to life. She is consistently dedicated to diverse representation in her projects.

The short film version of “Love, from Ellie” is a proof-of-concept for the feature (full length movie) version that is currently in development. We hope to produce the feature in 2025. By supporting our fundraising efforts for the short/proof-of-concept version of “Love, from Ellie” you are supporting our team in making our feature length movie!
